Jobsprops


Jobsprops is the name from which designer Job Martens sells his products. ´Props´ (a word used in the world of film and television) support actors and contribute in creating a certain atmosphere. This is exactly what the props of Job Martens do, with the slight alteration of being in your own home or garden. Some products aspire a lead role, while others can be satisfied with a more modest role.

Since graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2007 designer Job Martens gives shape to his world in a handcrafted manner. He has developed himself as a product designer on one hand, and a creative craftsman in metal and construction on the other hand. These two aspects make Job Martens a versitale and innovative designer.

As a child Job Martens was fascinated by dilapidated factories, municipal waste and kindling a fire. On his explorations he would fill his pockets with found treasures. Once home he would give new shapes to his finds. As an adult Job Martens is still intriged by the world of debris and scrap metal. His explorations remain an important part of his life.

Jobsprops is de naam waaronder ontwerper Job Martens zijn producten verkoopt. 'Props' (een woord afkomstig uit de wereld van film en televisie) ondersteunen acteurs en dragen bij aan het creëren van een bepaalde sfeer. De props van Job Martens doen precies dit, maar dan voor uw eigen huis en tuin. Sommige producten ambiëren een hoofdrol, terwijl andere stukken ook tevreden kunnen zijn met een meer bescheiden rol. .

Sinds zijn afstuderen in 2007 aan de Design Academy Eindhoven geeft ontwerper Job Martens zijn wereld in een handgemaakte manier vorm. Hij heeft zich enerzijds ontwikkeld tot een ontwerper van producten en anderzijds tot een creatief vakman in metaal en constructiewerk. Deze twee aspecten maken Job Martens een veelzijdig en innovatief ontwerper.

Als kind al was Job Martens gefascineerd door vervallen fabrieken, grof huisvuil en fikkie stoken. Op ontdekkingstochten vulde hij zijn zakken met interessante vondsten. Eenmaal thuis aangekomen gaf hij nieuwe vormen aan zijn vondsten. Ook als volwassene is Job Martens geïntrigeerd door de wereld van puin en oud ijzer. Zijn ontdekkingstochten blijven tot de dag van vandaag bestaan.
